Keynote Presenter:  Giovanni Lepori

 


Giovanni Lepori is senior leader with over 20 years of experience in building global premium and luxury lifestyle brands, as a CEO, Board Member, and investor.
Born in Italy, Mr. Lepori was until recently the General Manager of the Americas at Aesop, a manufacturer of products for the skin,   hair and body. In this role he formulated and executed the overall strategy for the Americas including overseeing the budgeting process, managing P&L, marketing and PR strategy, and leading the development of the retail, wholesale, corporate gifting and e-commerce channels. He was responsible for launching the brand in the Americas and built the business from nothing to $20M, he opened 20 stores, shop-in-shops, a new office and grew the operations from one person to a team of over 100 people in 3 years.
Prior to establishing Aesop USA, he was a Vice President for a middle-market private equity and financial advisory firm focusing on investments in the retail and branded goods sectors.
Previously, Mr. Lepori was responsible for launching and building the global footwear business for Dior (part of LVMH), in Paris. During his tenure he grew  the retail and wholesale footwear business fivefold, and distribution threefold.
Mr. Lepori also worked as a Director of Business Development for North America and Duty Free at Bally, a footwear manufacturer, and Sales and Marketing Manager for North America at Prada. Mr. Lepori began his career at Malo, a manufacturer of high end knitwear.
Mr. Lepori is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and French. He earned an MBA from  Columbia University’s Business School with a full scholarship, and a BSc in Business with Honors  from the Università degli Studi di Firenze.
